At the beginning of the year, we received inquiries from American customers. They needed to customize a double end stud, They need the material was brass, and the size was M6.
Normally  if the order volume is large, we recommend the customer to open the mold and cold heading. If the volume is not large, we will use CNC. Our salesman Ana communicated with customer and set up a video call meeting and ask for specific details. During the communication, we know this stud is better use brass because they said they will used on on electronic devices .Also the customer clearly tells us their target price.

Then our engineering check the drawing  found that the design according to the customer’s drawing is not suitable for cold forging production. To achieve the customer’s drawing effect, CNC must be required. However, the price of CNC will be very expensive, but if cold forging is required, the customer must change the design. improve the design for manufacturability in the cold forging (or cold heading) process. And because of the raw materials this year If the customer wants brass, it will not reach the target price.

Therefore,we set up a meeting with customer later day and we recommend that the customer change the drawing and also change the brass to carbon steel if we have to achieve target price,Finally, the customer accepted our suggestion. But the best brass samples and carbon steel samples are provided, so that they can compare the performance and make the final Decide.as you know if screws are used on electronic devices,brass is always a better choice.
